YOUNG political minds from Breckland were given the chance to walk the halls of Westminster.

Elizabeth Truss, MP for South West Norfolk, and George Freeman, MP for Mid Norfolk, invited Breckland youth councillors to visit the Houses of Parliament and learn about their day-to-day workings.

Six youth councillors were given a tour of the buildings and met colleagues at the British Youth Council.

Stuart Green, chairman of Breckland Youth Council said: “Overall it was a really good day and very interesting for us all to gain a greater understanding of central government.”

The group also visited the Department for Communities and Local Government to share their views on local politics.
