A school boy has been chosen to launch an annual charity fireworks display in Bury St Edmunds.

Zach Broad, aged six, from St Edmundsbury Primary School, won a schools art competition organised by the Bury St Edmunds Round Table in the run up to the highly anticipated event in the Abbey Gardens on November 7.

Zach won tickets for his whole family to attend the show, which attracts hundreds of visitors every year.

Zach will start the evening’s fun with a bang, performing the important honour of pressing the button to set off the grand fireworks display.

Tickets for the evening are available from Sainsbury’s and Tesco superstores in Bury St Edmunds and from The Apex box office.
