Emergency services had to pull a man from a river in Thetford this morning after he jumped in.

Police and ambulance crews from the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust were called to the Little Ouse river near Canons Close at around 10.15am to reports that a man had jumped into the water.

He was dragged from the river and found to have unexplained wounds on his body and suspected hypothermia.

The man, in his 30s, was taken by land ambulance to West Suffolk Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition. An air ambulance and the Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service also attended the scene.

An address in Canons Close has been sealed off while police continue their enquiries into the incident.
