A GROUP of care workers distributed presents to all 248 of their service users this week after raising money to buy them Christmas gifts.
Mears carers Ana Henfrey and Lafie Fides walked 42 miles from Stowmarket to Norwich during the summer to raise more than £800 for the project.
Mr Fides, who has now returned to his home in Slovakia, decided to do the walk as a last goodbye and thank you to everyone at Mears.
Every person received bed socks or hankies, a mug, chocolates, a plant and either a Christmas cake or a bird feeder from the carers, who delivered the gifts this week. The daughter-in-law of one service user baked 150 individual cakes for the staff to give out.
The carers said they raised the money because they knew how a little thoughtfulness meant so much to clients.
