Woman reports being sexually assaulted in Norton

Police are appealing for information after a woman reported being sexually assaulted in Norton on Tuesday night.

Officers were called at around 10.50pm on Tuesday July 14 by a man who reported concern for a woman in her 40s.

Police began a search and found her in the Norton Road area around midnight.

She reported that a man described as possibly in his 40s with dark hair, driving a small white van, had pulled over and had spoken to her before sexually assaulting her.

Officers are investigating what happened and are keen to speak to anyone who was in the Norton Road area at that time, particularly if you saw the woman or any vehicle in the vicinity.

Anyone with information is asked to call the dedicated sexual offences investigation team at Bury St Edmunds by dialling Suffolk Police on 101 and quoting crime number ST/15/2298.
