Woman killed in Bury St Edmunds car crash is named

A 23-year-old woman who died in a road traffic collision in Bury St Edmunds this morning has been named.

Vivienne Bickerton, of Walnut Tree Way, Cambridge, was a passenger in a silver Vauxhall Astra which left the road in Compiegne Way at about 12.35am.

She was found unconscious at the scene by the emergency services and was taken to West Suffolk Hospital where she later died.

The male driver was treated for an arm and foot injury by a doctor from the Suffolk Accident Rescue Services.

There were no other passengers in the vehicle.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident and are particularly keen to hear from anyone who saw the vehicle prior to the collision.
