POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a hit-and-run in Lakenheath yesterday.
A woman was taken to West Suffolk Hospital after being hit by a car in Lakenheath High Street at 3.40pm yesterday.
The car mounted the pavement between the post office and the pharmacy and hit the woman from behind, knocking her to the floor, before driving off.
The pedestrian was taken to West Suffolk Hospital with injuries to her head and back.
Police are appealing for the driver of the vehicle to come forward and would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident.
