Wise words from youngsters at start of family activity days in Bury St Edmunds

The first of St Edmundsbury Cathedral’s free ‘family activity days’ took place last Wednesday, based on this year’s theme of ‘growing and growth’.

Malachi O’Neill, from Bury St Edmunds, is pictured here with the stones he wrote wise words on after hearing the story of the wisdom of Solomon from the Bible.

A spokeswoman said: “The idea was that children would choose a word such as kindness (a word of wisdom they would like to pass on to someone) and then paint it onto the stone.”

There will be more stories, trails, crafts and quizzes at the cathedral from 10am to 4pm on August 12 and 19.
