Whistle blowing complaints investigated as Suffolk County Council’s Andrea Hill remains away from work

ANDREA Hill, Suffolk County Council’s chief executive has been given extended leave while the county council investigates anonymous whistle blowing complaints it was revealed this afternoon.

Mrs Hill, whose £220,000 salary has caused a furore, was said yesterday to be on ‘extended leave’ after taking a holiday in America.

This afternoon Cllr Jane Storey, acting leader of the Council, said: “The chief executive has been asked by the council to take additional leave so that preliminary investigations can be made into anonymous whistle blowing complaints received by the council. Andrea Hill has agreed to remain away from work so that the review can be carried out independently.”
