Lights alive! Festive displays in Barrow, Moreton Hall and Ixworth brighten festive season

Stunning displays are brightening up Christmas across the region this week.

In Barrow, 'thousands and thousands' of lights are drawing visitors to the home of David and Sheila Fairweather, who are hosting their biggest display ever.

The couple have been decorating their Bury Road home for more than 20 years, with the display growing each time.

Earlier this year the couple had to remove some trees from their front garden, which has freed up space for more lights than ever before.

They are raising funds for two charities – SARS and British Heart Foundation – with hopes of raising more than the £1,015 they collected for Children with Cancer UK in 2018.

"This year we have excelled ourselves and the display is quite a bit bigger," said David.

"People love it and have been saying 'it is different again'. We try to make it different every year so there's always something new to see.

"The kids love it and so do the adults. We get people from all over the place come to have a look. When you come into the village you're faced with a mass of lights – you can't miss us."

The lights will be on every evening from 4-9pm until January 5.

Meanwhile, on the Moreton Hall estate, in Bury St Edmunds, the annual display is up in Kembold Close, where several neighbours decorate their homes.

And if you are heading out towards Ixworth, keep your eyes peeled for an eye-catching display on a home just off the A143, at Bury Road.
