Met Office issues yellow weather warning for Suffolk




A flood warning has been issued for West Suffolk as heavy rain sweeps across the region.

The downpours have brought a small chance of flooding, according to the Met Office.

A yellow warning has been issued, which means there is a small chance the rain could impact public transport and potentially cut off parts rural communities.

Heavy rain is expected to continue in Bury St Edmunds for the rest of the day.

The Met Office yellow warning states there is a small chance homes and businesses could be flooded, damaging some buildings.

Guidance reads: "Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services.

"Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.

"There is a small chance that some communities become cut off by flooded roads."

The warning is in place across the region until midnight, but will remain in place for other parts of the county.
