Boris Johnson keeps West Suffolk MP Matt Hancock as health secretary

West Suffolk MP Matt Hancock has kept his role as health secretary in Boris Johnson's cabinet reshuffle today.

Mr Hancock was widely expected to be reappointed as Secretary of State for Health and Social Care in the Prime Minister's post-Brexit shake-up.

He has held the job since July 2018 when he was appointed by Theresa May.

In the reshuffle, Sajid Javid has resigned as Chancellor after he refused an order to sack his aides.

He has been replaced by Chief Secretary to the Treasury Rishi Sunak.

Among those sacked from their roles are Northern Ireland Secretary Julian Smith, Business Secretary Andrea Leadsom, Housing Minister Esther McVey, Environment Secretary Theresa Villiers and Attorney General Geoffrey Cox.

Bury St Edmunds MP Jo Churchill is currently a Parliamentary Under Secretary of State at the Department of Health and Social Care.
