West Suffolk Hospital confirms death of coronavirus patient

A West Suffolk Hospital patient with coronavirus has died.

The patient, in their 70s, had underlying health conditions.

Dr Stephen Dunn, chief executive of West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, said: "Our thoughts and condolences remain with their family and loved ones at this difficult time."

It takes the total number of Covid-19 related deaths at the Bury St Edmunds hospital to 78.

As of 9am yesterday (June 10), there were 1,543 coronavirus cases in Suffolk with 234 in West Suffolk, 183 in Mid Suffolk, 152 in Babergh, 351 in Ipswich and 623 in East Suffolk.
