Two talented West Suffolk dancers are preparing for their debut in a professional ballet production.

Keziah Farrow, 13, of Barrow, and Niamh Jenkins, 15, of Great Whelnetham, are set to perform in the English Youth Ballet’s production of The Sleeping Beauty at the Theatre Royal in Norwich on June 24 and 25.

It will star international principal dancers but all of the soloist and corps de ballet roles will be performed by 100 of the finest dancers (aged eight to 18) from Norfolk and Suffolk.

King Edwards VI School pupil Niamh, who trains at Cygnets Ballet School in Bury St Edmunds and the Quay School of Theatre Dance in Sudbury, and Horringer Court Middle School pupil Keziah, who trains at the Prima Dance Academy in Bury, were among those selected during auditions in March.

Niamh’s mother, Sarah Jenkins, said: “We’re very, very proud of her. She loves dancing, and particularly her ballet. She started dancing when she was just three and has stuck with it ever since.”
