West Suffolk College students stage final exhibition at Edmund Gallery

Students from West Suffolk College yesterday staged the final exhibition at the Cathedral’s Edmund Gallery.

Twenty-seven foundation art and design students had been exhibiting more than 50 pieces of work since last Friday.

Entitled Interpretations, the exhibition at the Angel Hill gallery attracted huge interest on the opening night and a steady stream of people ever since. Their work was inspired by reading a book from the Penguin Little Black Classics collection.

The decision to close the gallery was taken because it has been running at a loss.

Artists due to exhibit at the Angel Hill gallery were recently invited to a meeting to ‘discuss a way forward’ following the decision to close it.
