Residents are being warned to remove keys from locks after a dog flap was used to gain access to a house in Mildenhall.

A burglar reached through a large dog flap to access a door key and gain entry to a house in Grosvenor House Court between 1pm and 4.30pm yesterday.

A search of the property was carried out and an Apple iPad was stolen.

Police believe other items were dropped as the burglar fled the scene.

Anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area or who has information is asked to contact the Bury St Edmunds Priority Crime Team on 101 quoting reference MH/14/1179, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
