Allison's Eatery and Moriarty's shortlisted for 'Best Vegan Independent Business' at Indie Business Awards

Two vegan hot spots in Bury St Edmunds will go head to head after having been shortlisted for the same national award.

Allison’s Eatery, in the St Olaves precinct, and Moriarty’s bar, in Whiting Street, are among six UK businesses to be recognised in the ‘Best Vegan Independent Business’ category at the Indie Business Awards.

Allison Knight, owner of Allison’s Eatery, said: “To be chosen out of around 50 nominations is amazing, it’s really exciting stuff. I’m proud to get to the final six and it’s a lovely surprise after a hard few months during lockdown.”

Catherine Moriarty, owner of Moriarty’s, added that, having opened the bar just four months ago, she was ‘delighted’ to have been considered for the prize.

“It’s amazing that two Bury businesses are in the running. If one of us could win, it would be a great thing for Bury St Edmunds,” she said.
