Emergency services were called to a crash in Elveden on Saturday night.

Police were called to reports of a crash involving two vehicles, an Audi and a Porsche, on the B1106, opposite Elveden Upper Warren, shortly after 6.40pm.

A police spokeswoman said one of the vehicles had hit a tree and the tree had then fallen on the road and hit the second vehicle.

No-one is thought to have been seriously injured but one of the drivers was complaining of chest pains at the scene.

Four fire crews, two from Thetford, one from Mildenhall and another from Bury St Edmunds, were called to deal with one of the cars which had sustained ‘quite a bit of damage’ and had smoke coming from it.

They also assisted highways in removing the tree from the road, which was blocked from Brandon Country Park until around 10.05pm.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the accident to call 101 quoting CAD 320 of October 22.
