UPDATED: Pedestrian who died after collision with car in Cockfield is named

A pedestrian who died following a collision on the A1141 in Cockfield yesterday has been named by police.

Suffolk Police were called by the ambulance service at about 9.45pm to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a Volkwagen Amarok.

Geoff Buxton, aged 79, of Lavenham Road, Cockfield, who was the pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

Any witnesses to the collision are asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101.
