UPDATED: Main road in Bury reopens after bridge collision

Beetons Way in Bury St Edmunds closed after an accident involving a lorry''''PICTURE: Mecha Morton

Beetons Way in Bury St Edmunds which was closed after a Volvo lorry collided with an A14 bridge has been reopened.

The police received two calls at around 8.05am and the vehicle was removed from the road.

The Highways Agency was on site and believed the structure was not compromised but closed the road as a health and safety precaution.

The road reopened at 7.15pm.
