UPDATED: Extradited man to face 34 historical sex charges relating to Great Finborough school


A 68-year-old man extradited from France yesterday appeared in court today on 34 historic child sex abuse charges relating to St George’s School, Great Finborough.

Gerard Singer was collected by Suffolk Police officers and brought back to the county where he was taken into custody at Martlesham Police Investigation Centre where and formally charged with 34 offences including 16 indecent assaults, 12 counts of gross indecency with a boy under 14, three other serious sexual offences and three counts of assault with intent to commit a serious sexual offences.

These relate to allegations from nine victims relating to historical abuse at St George’s School in the early 1980s.

Gerard Singer, of Rue Alanoy, Elnes, in the Nord-Pas-de-Calais, appeared before Ipswich Magistrates’ Court this morning and was remanded in custody to appear before the town’s Crown Court on January 5.
