UPDATE: Large forest fire in Elveden under control




Fire crews have said that the large forest fire which broke out yesterday in Elveden is now under control.

The fire was stopped at around 3.45pm yesterday afternoon after it covered around 800 square metres of trees and undergrowth.

Engines from Thetford, Bury St Edmunds, Brandon, Mildenhall and Newmarket were on the scene after being called at 11.50am to Duke's Ride Track, just off the B1106.

RAF Lakenheath sent a water carrier to the scene, to help give a greater water supply to the incident.
