Two young burglars walk into woman’s Mildenhall home and steal handbag

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after two burglars walked into an elderly lady’s home in Mildenhall and stole her handbag.

The incident took place at 6.30pm yesterday (Wednesday) at an address in Newnham Close.

The offenders entered the property through the unlocked front door and then grabbed the victim’s handbag from the lounge where she was sitting, before running back out of the front door.

Police were called and searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspects. They are described as two white teenagers, both of skinny build and wearing dark clothing, with one wearing a dark motorcycle helmet and the other a dark hat.

Anyone who witnessed any suspicious people in the area, or who has information about this crime, is asked to contact the Bury St Edmunds Priority Crime Team on 101 quoting reference MH/15/602, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Residents are reminded to keep their doors locked at all times, even if at home.
