Police arrested two teenagers on suspicion of drugs offences in Bury St Edmunds yesterday.

At around 12.15pm, on Thursday June 11, officers out on patrol in Spring Lane witnessed people acting suspiciously near the nature reserve.

On entering the reserve, the officers had cause to stop and search two individuals, seizing a quantity of cash and mobile phones.

The nearby area was searched and a number of wraps believed to be Class A drugs were seized.

A 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy, both from Hackney in east London, were subsequently arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

They were taken to Bury St Edmunds Police Investigation Centre for questioning, where they have been bailed to return to on Wednesday 5 August pending further enquiries.
