Two people were hospitalised following a late night traffic collision in Bury St Edmunds last night.

The East of England Ambulance Service (EEAST) were alerted to a collision on Sicklesmere Road at 10.34pm.

Two ambulance crews, a response car, the East Anglian Air Ambulance team via a response car and Doctor Jeremy Mauger from Suffolk Accident Rescue Service, attended the scene.

An EEAST spokesman said: “Both patient’s required extensive treatment and stabilisation at the roadside.

“EEAST paramedics worked closely with the air ambulance team and Doctor Mauger for over an hour before they were conveyed to West Suffolk General Hospital for further treatment.”

Their injuries are believed to be non-life threatening.
