Two people were taken to West Suffolk Hospital after a silver Vauxhall Astra smashed into a tree on the A134 at Sicklesmere on Boxing Day.

It happened just before 3pm.

Firefighters had to cut the roof of the car to rescue someone trapped inside.

A police spokesman said two people were taken to the hospital in Bury St Edmunds. He added that neither had suffered ‘life threatening or life changing injuries’.

The road was cleared by 5.45pm.
