Two cyclists were injured during a race in Hessett near Bury St Edmunds yesterday.
The Essex air ambulance and Suffolk Accident Rescue Service (SARS) were called to Hessett following the incident at around 11.50am.
A SARS volunteer doctor treated a male cyclist in his thirties who had sustained serious arm and chest injuries and accompanied him to West Suffolk Hospital, in Bury.
The other cyclist was treated by the Essex Air Ambulance and flown to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, in Cambridge.
