A nine-year-old girl and a 32-year-old woman have allegedly been approached by unknown men in Lakenheath.

Police are appealing for information after both said they fled from the men on Monday (15).

The nine-year-old girl was walking along The Mallards at around 3.30pm when a large black Mercedes van pulled up alongside her.

A man, possibly aged between 50 and 60, got out and touched her on the shoulder - the girl ran from the scene and the man did not try to speak to her.

The man is described as being of average build with pale skin and brown and grey hair.

He was wearing a black T-shirt, grey trousers and trainers.

At 7.45pm the same day a 32-year-old woman was walking her dog, in Highlands, when she was approached by a man with a black labrador.

He grabbed the woman’s arm and asked her to come with him.

She quickly left the scene.

The man involved in the second incident is described as being white, 6’2” tall, of skinny build, in his early 30s to late 40s.

He was wearing a camouflage coat, black beanie hat, dark trousers and boots.

Police will be conducting high-visibility patrols in the area to identify the offenders.

It is unknown at this time if the two incidents are connected.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who might have information that could help these investigations. Calls can be made to PC Victoria MacNamara on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
