Ed has more than 15 years’ experience on cookery programmes including Country Kitchen and Britain’s Best Dish. He is also chef and co-owner of the trendy Randall & Aubin restraurant in London.

Organised by the town’s Business Improvement District (BID), the food and drink festival has featured on the town’s foodie calendar for the past three years.

Galton Blackiston, from the Michelin-starred Morston House on the Norfolk coast, has already been confirmed as the celebrity for Sunday, August 30.

Mark Cordell, chief executive of Ourburystedmunds, said: “With Ed and Galton on board for the festival there’s a lot to look forward to in the Aga Rangemaster Theatre Kitchen together with the supporting demonstrations from local chefs throughout the weekend.

“It’s the first time we have welcomed both Ed and Galton to this event and I hope they will be impressed with the enticing selection of food and drink offerings that we have in Bury St Edmunds.”

Running from August 30 to 31, the food and drink festival will feature demonstrations in the theatre kitchen as well as a wide range of local produce stalls and attractions including a farmer’s market.
