A NEEDHAM Market pub has been named as the ‘Best Turnaround Pub 2012’ in East Anglia.

The awards, organised by the publican’s Morning Advertiser, is seen as the Oscars of the pub world.

Alec Williamson, who runs The Rampant Horse pub, is also founder and managing director of brewer Calvors.

He said: “We are thrilled to be recognised amongst the best in our industry and it’s a real testament to the team’s hard work and commitment.

“When we acquired the pub, we knew it would be a significant change to turn it round and it had proved to be a tough, but very rewarding, experience.”

The pub, which was built in the 16th century, reopened on March 31 this year.
