IT’S not often that a police community support officer gets to play a part in a family reunion – especially one of the feathered variety.
But Jaz Last, with the help of a receptionist and Bid4Bury street ranger, reunited several ducklings with their family after they got trapped down a grating.
Miss Last was on duty on Wednesday morning when she was told of an incident in Guildhall Street, Bury.
She went to investigate and found the two ducklings which had fallen down a grating outside the Bridal Studio. They come from a garden at the nearby Constitutional Club.
Meanwhile Hayley Lunn, a receptionist at Gross and Co Solicitors, was rescuing another duckling from underneath a car. The pair got into the shop and with the help of street ranger Alex Kelly got the ducklings out. Miss Lunn helped to save three ducklings last year which had also fallen down the grating. Club manager Gareth Thomas has reblocked the garden gate to stop them from escaping.
