Tributes as welder dies, aged 55

Have your say

THE family of a Bury St Edmunds businessman who died suddenly from a heart attack on Sunday, have vowed to continue his company.

Melvyn Everitt, who was 55, worked as a welder, and ran MF Everitt Engineering on Chapel Pond Hill.

He had been in business for 28 years.

Charlotte Budgen, one of Mr Everitt’s two daughters, said: “He was a very well known, bubbly, outgoing, friendly man, always smiling. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.”

A life member of the Bury Rugby Club, Mr Everitt’s other hobbies included flying and motorbikes.

As well as Charlotte, Mr Everitt also leaves his other daughter Carolyn Everitt, grandson Luke Frank Budgen, and ex-wife Linda Everitt.

His family say his business will continue to trade as normal.

Mr Everitt’s funeral will take place on Wednesday at noon at West Suffolk Crematorium. It will be followed by a wake at Bury Rugby Club – all who knew him are welcome to attend.
