A group of travellers have returned to Moreton Hall, Bury St Edmunds, this week.

Two caravans are currently parked opposite Currys PC World and Home Bargains in a car park off Eastlea Road, on land leased from the borough council.

A council spokesman said: “St Edmundsbury Borough Council have contacted the managing agents for the site, who are aware of the situation and are acting accordingly.”

Cllr Frank Warby, who represents Moreton Hall on the borough council, spoke to the travellers on Monday night when he was told they were expecting another five caravans, but no more have arrived.

“The problem is that they are taking up six car parking spaces for the shops,” he said, adding that he thought they would be gone by Friday.
