Woman dies in A134 collision near Barnham

A WOMAN has died and three other people have been hurt after a crash on the A134 near Barnham.

Emergency services were called to the scene just after 3pm this afternoon after a road traffic collision involving three vehicles.

An elderly woman passenger in a grey VW Polo died at the scene, according to police. A seven-year-old child and another woman - suffering with chest and pelvic injuries - have been taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital. Their injuries are not thought to be serious.

The driver of a red Rover has been taken to West Suffolk Hospital with lower leg injuries.

A red Peugeot 207 was also involved in the incident.

Two air ambulances and four land ambulances were called to the scene of the accident just outside RAF Barnham.

An area of the road has been closed and diversions have been put in place.
