Two in hospital and three hurt in Stowmarket area collisions

TWO people have been taken to hospital and three others were hurt after three separate crashes in the Stowmarket area this morning.

The first took place near Stonham Aspal on the A1120 at around 7am when a man in his 60s suffered a head injury after a two vehicle collision. A second person had to be freed from their car and was taken to Ipswich Hospital with suspected spinal injuries.

Three fire crews from Needham Market, Stowmarket and Princes Street were called to the scene.

At 9am, crews from Stowmarket, Elmswell and Bury St Edmunds were called to Stowmarket Road, Old Newton to a one vehicle collision. A woman in her 20s had to be freed from the car and was taken to Ipswich Hospital with minor injuries and back pain.

The third collision involved two vehicles at Fishponds Way in Haughleyat around 9.20am. Three people were hurt in the collision but their injuries were not thought to be serious. A rescue vehicle from Bury St Edmunds attended the scene.
