A TRAIN has been damaged after hitting a tree near Elmswell.
The collision took place just before 9.30am this morning between Bury St Edmunds and the Haughley Junction.
A Network Rail spokesman said the train had sustained damage to the driver’s side windscreen. No one was injured in the incident.
Maintenance engineers are currently on site and the train will continue its journey once the tree is removed from the track.
The spokesman added that the incident should not cause substantial delays.
