THE A1088 was closed for two hours this morning after an accident involving a Fiat Punto.
A 50-year-old man from Clacton was trapped inside his car when it overturned in Ixworth Road.
Two fire engines from Ixworth and Bury St Edmunds and an emergency rescue vehicle attended the scene at 7.30am, along with Suffolk police.
The man was rescued from the car and was taken to West Suffolk Hospital where he was treated for abdominal injuries.
The road remained closed for two hours while the area was made safe.
Police are now investigating the circumstances of the accident.
