A train from Norwich to Cambridge had to be terminated at Thetford this morning due to an unknown fault.

The 8.40am service was stopped at Thetford, with passengers having to wait for the 8.57am service from Norwich to Liverpool Lime Street to continue their journey.

As a consequence of the termination the 10.12am service from Norwich to Cambridge was cancelled.

A spokesman for Greater Anglia said all other services are now running as normal, and the problematic train is being taken to a maintenance depot in Norwich to find the source of the fault.
