£10,000 small business grant available to qualifying West Suffolk businesses that claim by June 30
Time is running short for small businesses in West Suffolk to claim a £10,000 grant.
Businesses operating in shared offices or units on industrial or science parks and incubators where they do not have their own business rate assessment are eligible to apply to West Suffolk Council for the sum.
Applications for the grant, which also applies to bed and breakfasts and charities, must be made by June 30.
Landlords of business centres and other properties shared by small businesses are being asked to ensure their tenants have applied before the deadline.
West Suffolk Council launched the scheme last month after successfully lobbying the government for extra support for small businesses in the area and have already paid out more than half of their £1.9 million allocation.
Leader of West Suffolk Council, cllr John Griffiths said: “We already know through our many conversations with small businesses that these grants have helped save several from going to the wall and some employers from having to lay off their staff. They are helping to make the difference for many small businesses and the people that they employ."
