HAVERHILL councillor Tim Marks has been nominated as the next Mayor of St Edmundsbury.

Cllr Marks’ nomination marks the first time a Haverhill ward councillor has been nominated for the position in 14 years.

He has extensive experience, having been a Haverhill town councillor from 2003-2007 and Haverhill town mayor in 2004/5 and 2005/6.

Since 2005, Cllr Marks has also been a county councillor as well as becoming borough councillor for Haverhill North ward in 2007.

He has lived in Haverhill for 12 years and was a founding member of Haverhill Community First Responders as well as an active member of St John Ambulance.

Cllr Marks will take up his appointment as mayor of St Edmundsbury following formal election at the mayor making ceremony in May.
