Thurston Community College students fill shoeboxes to help the needy in Eastern Europe

Shoeboxes crammed with goodies are being shipped off to young and needy people in Serbia and Romania thanks to the generosity of pupils at Thurston Community College and Thurston Sixth Form.

Students filled more than 70 boxes and donated £130 to the charity Blythswood Care which helps those in need in Europe, Africa and Asia.

This year the charity hopes to send out 120,000 boxes to those in need,
