Suffolk Highways announce three weeks of roadworks around Lakenheath, Beck Row and Sedge Fen
Motorists in Lakenheath area are facing three weeks of disruption, due to roadworks.
Suffolk Highways is due to complete resurfacing, surface dressing and carriageway patching works that will also affect Beck Row and Sedge Fen.
Roads that will be closed for the duration are:
Farthing Drove, Beck Row.
Farthing Drove, Sedge Fen.
Newmans Drove, Lakenheath.
Highbridge Gravel Drove, Lakenheath.
Work will begin on Monday (March 25) and is expected to last until Friday, April 12.
Excluding weekends, it will be completed from 7am to 4.30pm.
A spokesman commented: “This is necessary to stop further deterioration and improve the road surface. The entire site will be surface dressed for a second time at a later date.
“Once the works are in progress the roads will be closed to through traffic for 24 hours continuously however the works will be carried out in sections to minimise disruption.
“Access to properties and businesses will be available but controlled by staff on site. Please speak to one of our staff who will provide access as soon as it is safe to do so.”
During the period of the closure, traffic will be diverted via: B1112 – Eriswell Road – A1101 and vice versa.
