THOUSANDS cheered as the Olympic Torch made it’s way onto Angel Hill in Bury St Edmunds.
Excited crowds lined the route from Crown Street onto Angel Hill waiting for a glimpse of the iconic torch.
And the crowd erupted when it finally arrived, carried by Matthew Humphrey.
Shaun Fox, 49, from Tuddenham St Mary, was there with wife Dymphna, daughter Esmee, seven, and four-year-old son Finn.
He said: “It is brilliant, a once in a lifetime chance to see something really special.
“We wouldn’t have missed it for the world.”
The torch was then carried along Northgate Street, towards Fornham Road on it’s way to the West Suffolk Athletics Track.
