Fund-raisers are being urged to don pink for a popular walk in aid of a leading breast cancer research charity.

Organisers Bonk Tasker and Penny White are inviting local businesses and friends to put their best foot forward for the Walk on the Westside event around the grounds of Ickworth House, in Horringer on Thursday, May 19.

The walk, now in its 11th year, is in aid of Suffolk Breast Cancer Now (formed after the merger of Breast Cancer Campaign and Breakthrough Breast Cancer) and has so far raised about £40,000.

Penny said: “The whole day has a wonderful feel, there is an understated essence of support and well-being to the event which has proved invaluable to many over the years.”

Walkers can choose a four or 11 mile route with lunch included at Ickworth Hotel and meeting for coffee at 9am before the walk starts. The event costs £35 each and dogs on leads are welcome.

Bonk and Penny are on the search for the ‘best pinked-up walker’ after three local mums won a prize last year with their take on Thing One, Thing Two and Thing Three from Cat in the Hat.
