EXPECT to see a sea of pink on May 19 as a gaggle of fund-raisers descend on Ickworth House for charity.

The Walk on the Westside event for Breakthrough Breast Cancer is hoping to beat last year’s cash haul of £4,000 and more than 100 walkers.

This year’s event is being sponsored by Bury St Edmunds business Denny Bros, and Graham Denny, commercial director, said backing the cause was not a hard decision to make.

“We’ve sponsored it in recent years but not been the main backer.

“We were asked this year and as cancer is something that we have all had experience of at some time or another we think everyone would agree it’s a good cause,” he said.

The walk starts at 9.30am at Ickworth House, with registration from 8.45am onwards.

Participants can walk either four or 11 miles through the grounds.

Participation costs £30, which includes coffee, water, a snack and lunch. Dogs are also welcome but must be on leads and must be cleaned up after.
