Detectives are appealing for witnesses after two daytime burglaries in Forest Heath on Good Friday.

The first took place between 8.40am and 4.20pm at an address in Ford Close, West Row. The glass in a back door was smashed to gain entry to the property and a number of items of jewellery were stolen from inside.

This was followed by another break-in in The Mallards, Lakenheath, between 9.30am and 5pm, where entry was gained by smashing a rear window. Again, items of jewellery were stolen.

Police would like to hear from anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in either village, or who has any information about these crimes.

Calls should be made to the Bury St Edmunds Priority Crime Team on 101 quoting reference MH/15/617, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
