Thieves attempt to break into garages in Gazeley

Would be thieves tried to break into 13 garages on Wednesday night in Gazeley after firstly disabling the street lighting at the scene.

Their crime spree in Highwood Road which damaged 12 garages as they unsuccessfully tried to break in also left a Toyota Celicia damaged as they tried to break into the vehicle.

The thieves forced off the front cover of the lamp post which lights the garages and then broke a switch to disabled the light.

They managed to get into one garage and stole a pair of wire cutters and some ornaments.
