Thetford rapper’s streaming success ahead of upcoming Rudimental gig
Thetford rapper Franko Fraize’s latest single charted in a music streaming website’s top 10 last week.
The 30-year-old ‘street poet’, who signed with Polydor Records last year, watched excitedly as his current single ‘Only’ reached number 10 on Billboard’s Spotify Viral-50 chart, which features songs with the most social and sharing activity.
“The industry looks quite favourably at streaming sites like Spotify and I think I’ve hit 83,000 in about two weeks so I’m absolutely buzzing,” said the rising star, who plans to release another single in the next month.
It comes as he prepares for a summer of ‘big’ live shows, including Thetford Forest next week and the Reading and Leeds Festival in August.
He supported Rudimental at The National Arboretum last week and is set to open their sell-out gig at High Lodge, Thetford, on Thursday (June 30).
“I feel like I’m going to shed a little tear when I get there,” he said, proud to be performing in his hometown.
