Pupils at a Brandon school have been enjoying a cosmopolitan cafe lifestyle as part of a project to give them a love of books.
Year 6 Kestrels class at Glade Primary School have been taking part in story cafes, the first to be run at the school.
The cafes give pupils a chance to share a book, snack and craft activity with a family member.
One session saw pupils treated to a reading of The Whisperer by Nick Butterworth, before sewing finger puppets based on characters from the book.
Pupil Jessica Carter, 11, said: “It was an enjoyable event because we spend time with family and friends.”
Lewis Woods-Dixon said: “I am glad I didn’t miss this event. It was fun and enjoyable.”
