THE John Peel Centre for Creative Arts was broken into last week and a ceramic toilet and four fire extinguishers were stolen.
The theft took place between 5pm on August 8 and 6.30am on August 9 at the centre along Church Walk in Stowmarket after someone gained entry through a high window.
Chairman for the centre Andrew Stringer said: “During the night somebody broke one of the old windows upstairs and jumped down from eight feet to steal four fire extinguishers and a toilet of all things.
“They then left them on the roof of the cycle shed next door.
“Being a building site it is a very hazardous place for someone to jump down, someone could get hurt doing that.
“It sounds like someone pulling a prank rather than a career criminal.
“It is concerning because the whole place is run by volunteers and for someone to break in is annoying.”
If you have any information about the break in, call PC Daniel Cockrill at Stowmarket on 101.
